Buying the right pair of headphones can be a daunting task. Headphones, earbuds, wireless, wired, in ear, on ear, over ear…the options are practically endless.

If you’re a earbud kind of person then you might want to take a look at the BEOPLAY H5 wireless earphones. The H5s are the first wireless headphones from the Bang and Olufsen spinoff brand, Beoplay marketed for both everyday and sport use.

Design:

Most of the time in-ear headphones come with a very plain “function over form” design methodology usually incorporating design features like wing tips or sizable ear clasps to help keep the earbuds in place. Bang and Olufsen have taken a different approach, focusing more on design to retain that top quality feel synonymous with B&O.

The earpieces and three button remote look top notch. Both flaunting a black finish which makes them look minimalistic and very stylish. The earphones also come with three different sized memory foam replacements so you can find your perfect fit.

Sound Quality

The H5s definitely deliver in the sound quality department. True fans of good sound quality will always try to avoid wireless due to sound compression of audio files and signal quality of bluetooth connections. This is where B&O have truly raised the bar. To solve quality issues they loaded the headphones with the aptX and AAC codecs which deliver CD quality audio very comfortably. Audio is also very well balanced. More often than not headphones focus on low end frequencies but the H5s do very well in all departments.

Overall:

Stylish, minimalistic and CD quality audio, the Beoplay H5s are great when it comes to both design and sound quality. Their only shortcoming however, is the battery life which lasts from 4-5 hours but this is a small con compared to its two major pros.

If you want to get your hands on a pair of H5s head over to Astral and see them for yourself!
