Samsung has officially announced that this year will be the last year, the Korean firm will be producing Plasma Televisions.
Just like Panasonic and Pioneer, the decision was taken following the decline in appeal, and the failure to compete with 4K LED sets. Samsung tried to restructure the sector earlier this year, but their efforts were in vein, seeing how the market shrinked in the latter years. All Samsung PDP facilities will be seizing operation by November 30th, and the remaining stock will be sold, until they run out.
LG will be the only main brand left, developing and producing Plasma TVs; that is unless they make a similar announcement in the near future.
