Netflix lets you be the master of your own adventure!

Has interactive TV arrived?

Netflix’s first interactive TV show arrived on Netflix recently. Puss in Book: Trapped in an Epic Tale gives you a number of decisions you must take in order to continue your journey. The story and plot will change according to decisions you take. Netflix have started by targeting their youngest audience and basing the concept around TV fit for children.
Could Netflix bring this new Interactive way of watching TV shows to the mainstream?

Children’s constant exposure to interactive stories in mobile games and game consoles has led them to assume everything is interactive. Carla Engelbrecht Fisher, Netflix’s director of product innovation adds

“They’re touching every screen. They think everything is interactive.”

Being an internet based television service allows Netflix to come up with and implement new concepts easier than other television service providers such as HBO.

The interactive shows will be available on some smart TVs, game consoles, iOS devices, and Roku devices. They will not be available on PC, Chromecast or Android; for the time being.
