MSN Messenger to officially shutdown

Everyone has used Microsoft’s 15 year old messaging service, MSN, at one point or another in their internet surfing days.

Following Microsoft’s acquisition of rival, Skype, MSN became somewhat of a fossil, and during the past year or so, the service was being shut down for several regions, with the exception of China, where to this day, MSN is still popular and widely used.

But the popularity hasn’t hindered Microsoft’s decision to pull the plug this October, officially retiring the MSN Messenger for good.
