Facebook are reportedly currently designing a smart speaker with a 15” display. This could be the speaker that gets you looking at more photos and messaging more friends from home.
Chinese iPhone manufacturer Pegatron is building the device for an early 2018 launch. The device might act as a photo frame when inactive shuffling through photos from their website. The device may also act as a smart device in the sense of liking and commenting on posts using voice commands.
This device will enter the smart speaker market and take on the Amazon echo. Facebook, in the future could earn money simply from selling the smart speaker and could think of non-intrusive ways of displaying ads in your home (as non-intrusive as a billboard in your home can get). It is reported that LG will be designing the digital panel for Facebook’s smart speaker.
