On Wednesday, Facebook announced the launch of a new platform for shows on Facebook that they will be calling “Watch”. Watch content will be produced exclusively by partners and will take 55% of the revenue. The new feature will be available for mobile, desktop and Facebook’s TV apps. This feature is a continued effort from Facebook’s video push from last year.

The service is going to be personalised, as is all your other content on Facebook. Users will be shown content based on content Facebook thinks you like to watch. The platform will feature live and also recorded shows. The platform will also be segmented into categories; like most other video platforms.
The feature will be rolled out, initially to a number of US users with the platform becoming available to the general public “soon”.
