In the realm of consumer electronics and home appliances, technology mega-trends are driving a new wave of innovation and are more affordable and easily integrated than ever before.
This April, Gadgets joined 360 journalists at the IFA Global Press Conference in Rome, where we got a sneak peek at some of the products that are taking the global stage and soon to be available to the public in 2018.
It was clear that smart and connected devices for the home, powerful AI applications used in consumer electronics and wellness products, and TVs with 8K are the biggest trendsetters that are sure to start making themselves household names this year and in the years to come.
Smart devices and AI applications
With the recent Google I/O event, it is evident that artificial intelligence in devices will be taking us to places we have never been before, creating a more convenient and seamless experience for users. This powerful combination of smart devices paired with artificial intelligence are already starting to give consumer electronics a completely new meaning in our daily lives.
8K TVs are here to stay
Just when we were getting used to the idea of 4K, 8K is here. With four times more pixels than 4K images (we’re talking 33,177,600 pixel), we are seeing a whole new level of detail than ever before. Better get used to the idea of 8K televisions because they are here to stay.
While 8K content is basically non-existent, we are seeing all the players in TV coming out with their own premium 8K television.
This August, Gadgets will be heading to IFA in Berlin where it’s expected that all major brands will announce their premium 8K televisions.
