Apple have made it official, by confirming earlier speculation of their acquisition of headphones giants, Beats Electronics. The buy out has costed Apple. Inc a whopping $3 Billion, making it their largest purchase in their company history.
Rumours had started earlier this month following company founder and hip hop artist Dr. Dre announcing that he had become the first Billionaire in hip-hop.
The acquisition not only includes the hardware division of the company (as previously announced), but also the Beats streaming service sector. Both Beats founders, Dr. Dre and Jimmy Lovine will be joining Tim Cook and Eddy Cue at Apple Inc., but their position is yet to be revealed. The Beats Duo shall be heading the next wave of Music products by Apple, but nothing has been revealed.
VP of Internet Software and Services, Eddy Cue, stated that 2014 will be bringing Apple’s best product and service line-up since its launch.
