If you’re picturing an Optimus Prime-like robot firing disinfectant guns after reading that headline, we’ve got news for you. Though we’re sorry to disappoint on that count, the tech described below is still pretty cool!
No light wait
The short version of the science used is that UV-C light only sanitizes surfaces and air. These robots instead use UV-C Ozone disinfection, and this appears to be more effective on all surfaces, as well as shadowed areas, or areas that are otherwise hidden or difficult for UV-C light rays to reach.
Manufactured in Italy, a local pharmaceutical company is making use of these robots, and what sets them apart is the mapping system. And if where they’re being used is anything to go by, then they’re rather effective.
OK, who else?
Of course, it’s not just limited to pharma. These robots are adequate for office use, wedding venues and pretty much any premises, given the versatility on offer. So far, we’ve counted schools, Casino Maltese, business offices, pharmacies and catering establishments, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see the list grow further.
There are three different robots available, so you can pick and choose which one works best for you!
