PBS has now just launched a new TV Station – TVMnews – that will shed more focus on sports, culture, history, current news and live features.

Dr. Mark Sammut, chairman of The Public Broadcasting Services said that through this channel, the general public will be given the best service possible, and all the while, the already existing national channel will see some changes and positive steps forward; where the main focus will revolve more around entertainment programs.

Quality at the heart of it all

Minister of Prime Minister’s Office Carmelo Abela who is also responsible for local broadcasting, described this move as one that strengthens the broadcasting service in Malta.

Prime Minister Robert Abela also saw this as a positive development that will now seek higher quality in local broadcasting service; quality not just in the programs featured but also the quality when it comes to the workforce within the industry and the level of expertise they will be able to exert in such a high-aspiring broadcasting service.

Call to all graphic designers

During the MCC press conference, Dr Sammut even issued a public call for all local graphic designers to bring forth ideas for new logos as a new brand uplift to the national station.
