MaltaPost Warns Of Various Online Scams & Fake Profiles

MaltaPost have issued a warning to the public about a variety of scams and fake accounts that are doing the rounds. While reiterating the need to always keep vigilant, they’ve also given plenty of details about each threat.

Fraudulent e-mail

The below e-mail message has been doing the rounds recently. One easy-to-remember thing to keep in mind is that many scams will feature incorrect or strange-looking punctuation. The example below shows capital letters halfway through sentences that are incorrect

The e-mail has also been circulated in English.

MaltaPost’s correct URL is https://www.maltapost.com/, and if you’ve already entered your personal details, please contact your bank.

Text messages with similar messages are also going around, asking customers to pay fees by clicking a link that takes you to a cloned page appearing to be the official MaltaPost website.

Definitely no TikTok accounts

While it’s important to keep your finger on society’s pulse, MaltaPost do not own a TikTok account. Clarifying this in a Facebook post, the postal service also clarified that a police report has been filed.
