The fourth edition of VIVANDA – Chef Challenges, Food and more is taking place from the 22nd till the 25th of February at MFCC Ta’ Qali. Meaning you still have time to check out all the action this weekend.
The highlight is the ‘Malta Kulinarja’ competition that takes place every two years, during which foreign judges will determine the winners of different cooking competitions. Up to 300 chefs, both local and foreign will compete. Visitors can watch the chefs competing side by side and admire their creations.
Gadgets spent the day at VIVANDA to scope out the food technology scene. These were our top five favourite gadgets from VIVANDA:
1. Watch and Touch Candy Smart Oven
Talk about Internet of Things. If we weren’t clear, this is an oven… with Facebook and so much more.
2. Digital Signage
We’d love to see more digital signage around Malta. The possibilities are endless in this department.
3. FluxPort Wireless Charging Clock
The Fluxport wireless charging clock is one sleek gadget we want to wake up to. It functions as a charging station, alarm clock and bluetooth speaker. WANT.
4. Rational SelfCookingCenter XS

With the help of the Rational SelfCookingCenter XS, anyone can cook to perfection. We loved the fact it connects to your smartphone for remote operation. The ultimate addition to industrial and domestic kitchens.
5. Mobile Phone Recharging Station
We would not mind one of these mobile phone battery recharging stations at our office.
For establishments small and large, this is an event not to be missed. Visitors can also find products like industrial ovens, kitchenware including pots, pans, tableware, wine, beer, fresh pasta, uniforms and a whole lot of other specialized cooking equipment.
VIVANDA is only €2.50 at the door at MFCC. The opening hours are from 10:00am till 10:00pm from Thursday till Saturday and Sunday till 9:00pm.
