Calling All Businesses: This Year’s Freshers’ Month Has Just Gone Virtual

Freshers’ Week is still taking place, just in a way we could have never imagined in 2020 BC (Before COVID). Mass events, of course, have been banned, and when it comes to student life, they don’t come much bigger than Freshers’ Week. Exciting as it was for students, it was equally so for businesses. The preparation of stands, plans and offers, the friendly banter between rival companies made for an almost surreal atmosphere, especially for newcomers. Unfortunately, it won’t be the same this year, but what if there’s still a way of reaching practically every student on the island just the same?

Meet Malta’s No.1 Student App

If you’ve not heard of FreeHour yet, then here’s a quick recap. It’s an app actively used by over 21,500 students (about 90% of the 15-25-year-old age group), where students from University, Mcast & every single 6th form on the island can track their daily school timetables and that of their friends. Well, that was the original incarnation, but they’ve grown even more than that by opening up the platform to host everything student-related. This platform expansion has led to some very impressive metrics, becoming Malta’s largest student community & platform in just a few years. With thousands of student engagements and with no competition, this is the place to be for any brand with a student-based clientele.

Freshers’ Goes Virtual!

This year, FreeHour will be running their very own virtual Fresher’s Month, starting on the 5th of October. Sure, there’s something homely about having a physical stand on campus, but in reality, there’s little argument against virtual stands. Operating your station is easy – you’ll be promoting your services with engaging photos and text, but you’ll also be able to add website and social media links too. Also, the costs for a virtual stand are far less than those of a physical one, and there are plenty of giveaways and prizes on the app itself. In case you need reminding, all of this will be within the same app where your target audience is currently residing.

Connect with Malta’s youth

Associating with FreeHour automatically marks your brand out as student-friendly with a prime target audience. Better yet, a virtual stand means you’re not confined by physical boundaries, and you can reach any student from University to MCAST and beyond.

There are less than ten stands available so don’t dally for too long, because they are selling fast. And since we always believe in what we say, Gadgets will also be present!

FreeHour also run parallel Back to School campaigns, so if you want to get the full experience…well, you know what to do. You can get in touch with Sean Abela, their head of sales, via e-mail to sean@freehour.eu or by calling on +356 7979 0522
