Music, has always played a huge part of the video game experience in itself. It has been this way since the very early days of video games. Music is there to set the mood, lead the gamer into certain thoughts and compliment the components of the game.

You simply, cannot NOT know about Tetris. You have played it, you know the sound; no introduction needed.
5. The Legend of Zelda
Even though you may have not even been born when this was released, somehow you still go through nostalgia when listening to the sound track.
6. Sonic
Sonic the Hedgehog is definitely one of the most well-known video game characters along with Super Mario. Do not let the cute blue exterior fool you; he is fast & ruthless.
