The Samsung Galaxy S8 is right around the corner and we’re more excited then ever to get our hands on the new smartphone.
The amount of leaks and rumors related to the S8 are overwhelming both when it comes to volume and accuracy. Now that the S8 has been launched we can confirm the phone’s features.
Starting off with the phone’s most impressive feature, the display. The 5.8”, Super AMOLED screen takes up practically the whole front of the device which will definitely impress any user. Although Samsung’s “infinity” display isn’t completely bezel-less at the sides, the screen seems to spill over to the back of the phone. Also The edges have been rounded off which makes the phone feel great in the hand.
Unfortunately Samsung has yet to confirm which processor will be installed. The phone will most likely make use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset or Samsung’s own Exynos 8895 but we won’t know until we have the phone in hand. What we do know however, is that the phone will come with 4GBs of RAM and 64GB of internal storage space which can be bumped to up to 256GB with external storage.
The camera is practically the same as the camera on the S7. A 12MP sensor with an F1.7 aperture lens for the back camera and an 8MP F1.7 for the front. Image stabilisation is once again present.
The launch of the S8 comes with a new virtual assistant called Bixby. This new contender in the virtual assistant lineup was created by Samsung, set to compete directly with Siri and Google Assistant. It’s interesting to note that Samsung has placed a physical button on the side of the phone to activate Bixby which shows how much Samsung want to push users to make use of their Virtual Assistant.
Overall the Samsung Galaxy S8 looks to be one of the best phones currently on the market. One might think that the S8 is just a glorified update to the S7, but once you dig deeper into it’s new features, you’ll see some really great updates from Samsung.
